KUCCPS PLACEMENT 2019/2010: FRAUD ALERT!!
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement
Services (KUCCPS) wishes to bring to the attention of all KCSE 2018 candidates
that there are some fraudsters who are collecting money from the candidates
pretending to do so on behalf of KUCCPS.
KUCCPS fraudsters are using online platforms purporting to
give guidance to KCSE candidates seeking to join universities and colleges at a
fee.
In connection to this, KUCCPS has placed an alert on their
website as a precautionary to innocent candidates who may easily fall prey to
such fraudsters.
The statement reads
as follows:
Following the release of the Kenya Certificate of
Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results for the 2018 candidates, the
Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) wishes to
state as follows:
1. Preparations for the placement of the 2018 KCSE candidates
started in October and are well on course;
2. We are currently receiving applications from 2018 KCSE
candidates through their respective schools;
3. Official communication regarding the 2019/2020 placement
process such as the course revision dates will be announced in due course
through the KUCCPS website www.kuccps.ac.ke and
the Government newspaper, MyGov;
4. All announcements from the KUCCPS are made through the
website, MyGov and the official social media accounts which
are @KUCCPS_Official (Twitter) and The.Placement.Service (Facebook).
Therefore, as a safeguard against fraud and extortion, the
Placement Service wishes to caution the public to avoid online forums that
claim to offer placement advice and career guidance to KCSE candidates seeking
to join universities and colleges at a fee.
KUCCPS does not collect money through such forums.
